Notice Regarding Police Shooting Range
Monday evening following the village board meeting Trustee Boudreau and myself took time to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Olejarz regarding their concerns over the proposed shooting range for the village. It is important to note that this range has never been decided on and was in the very infant stages of planning discussions. After our meeting CJ and I discussed the concerns and came to an agreement that although our concept was discussed the project needs further discussion and investigation before making any formal proposals. This investigation will include looking at other viable cost-effective locations. As such I have asked that we table this topic until further investigation can be completed. Our goal as elected officials is to ensure the highest degree of safety for our public while effectively managing the cost associated with doing this.
Given that dirt work will be starting soon across the street we will still utilize the spoils to complete the berm running along the s side of our property. This will fulfill a prior commitment, that we were made aware of on Monday, that was made to Mr. Olejarz regarding screening. If someone has any ideas, they would like to be considered please reach out to Trustee Boudreau or myself and we will certainly give these ideas consideration as we look to find the best solution for our village in its entirety.
