Manteno is positioned in the Kankakee-Bourbonnais-Bradley Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Chicago–Naperville–Michigan City, IL-IN-WI Combined Statistical Area.
Interstate 57 connects Manteno from Chicago to southern Illinois at two locations, exits 322 and 318. Industries will benefit from easier access to over 1,000 acres of industrial land. Exit 318 opened in November 2018.

The Village has one active Tax Increment Financing Areas (TIF #3) and an Enterprise Zone Area. TIF #1 expired 12/31/2021.
