The Manteno American Legion will celebrate Monday with a Military Warriors Veterans Day Run to the Schools.
Veterans and military personnel are invited to join the annual run to the three Manteno schools and downtown Manteno, where students and spectators will be celebrating the day. Running at an 11-minute mile pace, dressed in battle gear and running with patriotic flags for four miles, the group will be escorted by various military organizations riding in their battlecruisers and military vehicles, along with the Manteno Police Department.
The group will step off promptly at 8 a.m. Monday from the Heritage Park parking lot and proceed to the grade school and the rest of the route.
